The genuine stuff - Krytox, is available at much less than dealer prices if you search t'interweb thingy. It comes in bottles and as a spray.

I never saw a hint of it used on a dealer service on my wife's 2007 Eos, but my local Indy does a tremendous job spraying it just about anywhere and rubbing it in as appropriate. Anyone living in or near South Yorkshire - go and see Matt at Autohaus Dolby. They specialise in old air-cooled stuff but will tackle any VW job and the quality of workmanship was excellent.

One final thought - Eos roofs were notoriously leaky until early 2007 when there was a design change on the seals, improving things massively. But anyone who leaves a convertible, even a tin top Eos, outside in the cold weather for frost and ice to attack the seals or 6" of snow to sit on top almost deserves to get leaks. Put it in the garage or buy a Golf saloon.

Excellent, just what I was looking for.....and duly ordered from Amazon. Looks like I'll be helping my niece clean the Eos I helped her find back in the spring!! Thank you.

I've seen these 'stick' products (there's a Würth one as well) and with my recent experience of having treated EOS seals you need to be able to get to various angles and in to tight spaces plus you need to be able to work it down between the seals between the roof side sections and the back roof panel. The stick is probably great for door seals where you can get at them all round just by opening the door.
To be honest for the sake of a few pounds to prevent leaks in a several £1000 car, go for the liquid Krytox, you'll get 2 or even 3 treatments for around £37.

Oi, oi! I'm sure its SO smooth...

Still not sure how you'd use the stick to get to all the surfaces of all roof seals on an EOS whatever else its good at.

You have to park the roof in various different positions, personally I won't even open an Eos roof now since one tried to decapitate me....
