The phone recognised the car and it asked for the code (16 numbers) but vw premium didn't give me the code.
With nokia 6230i everything is perfect and it works properly.

The premium kit is designed by Nokia, as far as I am aware, any RIM device isn't fully compatible with the system. At best you would be able to make and receive calls, but you won't be able to transfer your phone book over.

The only solution is to use the Nokia 6230, put your sim card in it, and call both devices the same bluetooth name, and transfer the phonebook over from the nokia, and then swap the sim card back into the b/berry, and hey presto, it should still appear. I have the same problem with an HTC device. I ended up buying a 6300 and putting my sim card in that, and sticking a spare sim in my HTC and only use that for email. Not convienent, but VW are rubbish at updating compatible phones etc, you try getting a cradle (for the arm-rest) for a 6300? They still have 6310i on the list!

Are you pairing from the phone or from the car? From your description, it sounds as if you are pairing from the phone. Do it from the menu, and there shouldn't be a problem, but as above, the phonebook is a bit tricky.

I have just picked my Tiguan and am trying to pair my 8100 Blackberry with the VW Premium Mobile kit. From the car menu the blackberry sees the car and asks for the PIN. When inputing the PIN stated in the manual (0000) all I get is "Unable to pair with VW UFH". The Blackberry has the required rSAP profile. (Remote S im Access Profile). It is on the list of mobilies for the Bentley which is part of VAG. There must be a solution I can not believe this is unresolveable. My dealer simply said " buy a new phone" which I find a rather unhelpful response to an issue with a not cheap optional extra.

So come on all you techies out there, Nokia or RIM must know an answer?

I assume that it is the same kit, so I would have thought that your car kit would give a 16 digit code to enter on your phone? Is the PIN the only option stated?

I will try my 8820 next week when I have Passat back.

This sounds plausable. But where is the 16 digit code presented? I understand that it is a randomn code generated by the Premium kit. Is it displayed on the MFD or the 510 Head Unit?

An idiots guide with example screen shots would be nice. The Premium manual isn't that helpful with the initial pairing.

I wonder if Nokia have an answer?

the code is presented on my MFD. IIRC, I would make my phone visible and then get the car to search for it. I can't do screen shots as I don't have my car presently, and won't have for another week!

    IIRC ? Sorry non comprendai??

My Blackberry is visible and it sees the car and the car asks for the PIN. But the PIN stated in the manual (0000) just gives the result "Unable to pair with VW UFH".

Now I didn't tell the phone what VW UFH was so the phone and the car msut be seeing each other its just that they are unable to complete the handshake (pairing process).

I've also asked Nokia and RIM (Blackberry) the same question.

IIRC - if I recall correctly. Sorry, been hanging around forums to much.

Have you tried doing it in reverse, i.e. getting the car to look for the device, not the other way around? Perhaps then, as the car is "leading" the initation, the handshake will complete?

    Doh...

I am following the process in the manual and getting the car to search for devices and yes the key is in ignition point 1, the engine isn't running and within 10 minutes of doing so.

    Tried 0000, 1234 and 9999.

the only other solution I can see is to try a standard Nokia to see if that works.

VW will say that the B/berry isn't a supported device so they can't help you (been there, done that etc)
