Just had a snap-on modis diagnostic system linked up to the passat, and its come up with two fault codes. The first one is 00575 - which is manifold pressure deviated from desired value - which Im presuming is the reason the car goes into limp mode until a restart seems to clear it. Autodata seems to say that it may be the maf sensor, but Ive also heard that the n95 solenoid is a common fault on the passat - can anyone shed any light on it thats had the same problem.

The other fault was 17978 (p1570) which is ecu blocked - and points to the imobilizer being inoperative or damaged key etc - but the car still starts and drives - ive had the problem of the leaky passenger side footwell which caused the hazards to flash and the central locking to fail from the remote but I think this may be getting better as its slowly starting to dry out - anyone think this is related to the fault code or is there something more sinister at hand.

Anybody have any ideas before I go and start spending some cash ???

Only one I can help you with is the passenger footwell/ If your car has a sun roof ensure that the overflow pipes are clear. Also underneath the front window clear well. There is a overflow there also. Take off the batteny cover and full cover underneath bonnet. Happened me twice adn when cleared all has not happened since. Also if the electrices wet underneath the carpet could lead to more trouble you definitely don't want

Yeah Ive already cleared out the drain holes in the plenum chamber under the battery and servo, also resealed the pollen filter housing as best I could. Dried the carpet for a few hours and its a lot better under there now, but not perfect as I still have flashing hazards for no reason sometimes when I open the door, but the go off after about 15 seconds (a bit embarrassing though might I add) )
