my 94 80 2.0e has started to have issues starting from cold. on your first attempt to start it usually will not fire up, then starts on the second or third attempt it starts but you have to let it idle for twenty seconds or so before pressing the accelerator otherwise it will cut out. a mate suggested to me it might be the cold start valve any one got any ideas?
    cheers chris

Sounds like the cold start regulator is at fault here. Not 100% sure for the 2.0, but its normally attached to the side of the engine and uses beeswax to respond to temp of the engine and to adjust the fuel mixture accordingly. I suugest you source a replacement from a scrapyard. They are fairly easy to install too.

Not sure if this will help you but heres a pic:
    http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?im...l%3Den%26lr%3D

You may get more info from a Bosch K-jetronic workshop manual. I believe Haynes do one but theres loads of info on the net.
Heres a site i used when i had a merc 190e which has the same fuel system:
    http://www.justanswer.com/JA/ASP_A/T...-benz-190e.htm

They are usually attached to the the front of the block. That on the rhs as u look from the front of the car, same side as the spark plugs are on. It should be clearly visible. If u still cant find it, track the fuel lines from the fuel distributor unit (it will have 6 braided pipes for a 4 cylinder i think) which is attached to the air filter housing.

Let em know how u get on. Good luck and Happy Xmas

    Jp
