    Hi all

1st post for me so be gentle.

Having just sold my BMW 328 Touring I've now purchased a 130bhp 2001 Passat TDi Sport.

Apart from getting used to changing gears again (BMW was Steptronic ) I'm also getting used to the way a diesel engine needs to be driven.

If I put my foot down in 3rd to give it a good blast the powers seems to drop off very quickly just above 3000 revs forcing me to change to 4th and then the car goes again, very quickly :-)

I'm not sure what the power band is on this car or if I have a problem with the power loss. I've been reading things about MAP Sensors??

Any ideas if all is Ok?

Get yourself a remap buddy, will pull all the way to 4.5k then. These go up to 180hp and 300lb/ft.

Feel free to call me on 07756 190026

    Thanks, Mark

Is my car just behaving normaly then?

I have thought about doing a remap in the future. Not sure I want 180bhp though, will that not be to much for a standard car ie: clutch, brakes?? Already had a quote for 165bhp @ £400.

How much we talking Mark? PM me if you like.

It's sorted isn't it? Why not go to a garage before asking somebody who may just be guessing?
