I am pretty sure that my heater resister pack has broke had same problem on my 306, only speed 4 works so i am guessing as that is full speed the power will not need to be resisted hence why it just "works". i have ordered a new resistor pack if indeed it is that that has failed, but where does it live, is it next to the heater moter under the glove box? or is it like my 306 where its hidden down the inlet pipe, i would go out and buy a haynes manuel but i thought i would seek the gurus on here first

    Thanks

Remove two or three screws that hold the trim in place underneath the glovebox. The heater blower resistor is the size of a packet of Swan matches and plugs into the ducting with an electrical connector (4 wires, I think).

The symptoms you describe are identical to mine. Fan only worked on full.

All sorted now thanks! Took out the bottom box under the glove box, its like a little shelf, there were 5 screws. Then like you said just pulled the resister pack out, there were two harness connecters, one with 4 or 5 wires in and one with 2 wires, swopped them over and immediately had 4 fan speeds again!
