    I'm sure I read how to do this in the user manual but can't seem to fond it again, aint it always the same.
    Anyone know how to reset the Service light, I seem to remember there was a sequence about putting the ingition key in and doing some set sequence, anyone out there know this?

    Sorry forgot to mention I have a W reg Passat estate sport TDI

    If you didn't get it?.......Press mileage reset button in, turn ign on, let go of reset button, turn clock adj button clockwise and hold for a sec, turn ign off and that should be it!...

    Yes your absolutely right, the website was helpfull but did not apply to my model, to be honest I tasked the wife to read through the handbook and she found it on page 12, discribed as you have.

    What year is your car? - I can't find it my manual (Passat 2006) would you tell me how exactly you reseted the "service now" message?

    Hi, I checked the website you mentioned regarding reseting "service now" message on Passat 2006 and it didn't work. Any ideas?

    If your Passat is set for Long Life Servicing you can not reset the service interval display without a diagnostic tool.

    Thanks!!! How would I know if it is set to Long Life or not?

    It should say in your service record if LongLife oil was used or not - I'll run you through the manual method > 1. Ignition OFF - Hold down RIGHT button & switch ignition on 'SERVICE NOW' should stay on. 2. With ignition still ON & still holding down RIGHT button turn LEFT button CLOCKWISE > 'SERVICE NOW' will go out. 3. Release all buttons. 4.Turn ignition OFF and your done... If it does not work then you are on longlfie servicing. A good garage who know where to look will be able to tell you.
