    Hi,
Just bought a 2003 1.8TDI estate . Its a great car in every way except that the car seems to be too low and it hits speed humps etc very easily. It likely to damage the vehicle sooner or later
This never happened with previous vehicles we've had.

    Any ideas or remedies ?

My 1.8T Saloon grounds on speed humps easily too - and its entirely stock in that respect. I think its just the nature of them. Drive over the bump slowely is the usual remedie :P

You've got the sport model I bet! I'm thinking there are not many speed bumps in germany maybe!

Remedie is fitting a metal undersheild to protect the alloy sump from cracking.

Your mate wants to take it a bit easier then!

I attempt to drive over the road width humps as slowly as possible.

The dimple ones I drive over with one wheel on the road and the other over the edge of the hump.
