    One of my collegues has just pointed out that you can get your vehicle's MOT history from the DVLA:
    http://www.motinfo.gov.uk/

    You'll need the V5 or a copy of the MOT certificate for a certificate number.

    VW have a telephone number for this as well

    i think its good in some ways not in others

    wot if potential buyer wants proof that you fixed advisories on the car but you havent got it

    most advisories are of the nature that they will fail the next test or need doing in the coming year anyway so the chances of them not being done is unlikely as by next test most would fail , a lot of people do not see the advisory notice as important they have there pass and there away , the only good thing is its says the veichle was issued with one on the test certificate , the advisory is as much to cover the mot station as help the customer and inform them of problems that were not quite a fail

    I've just got round to checking mine now, there are only two MOT's recorded because of the age. The only warning that was listed was that the back number plate was cracked, but the garage I bought it from replaced the plate with one with their name on before I bought it anyway.
