Audi Concert Code

Hi, after reading the advise around improving poor idle on the A6, I took the plunge and decided to clean the throttle body. Brilliant stuff, only took about half an hour in total, completely changed the car.

Anyway, doing this job requires that you disconnect the battery, I mistakenly thought that the radio code would sort it's self out like the previous golf I had, but no. The head units is in safe mode, and I don't have a code. Can anyone provide a code for this or it it a main ******* job.

I think its a main ******* job...

They must have it on the database otherwise how would they work on the car (unless they connect another battery in parallel with a diode hmmmmm.....

Poole Audi charge £10 for a quick look in the central Audi Database. Volvo do it for free as long as you can prove you own the car!

Stockport Audi did it for free for me after I had proved I owned the car. Then again I bought mudflaps at the time for £70 so maybe they took pity!

On the inside of concert handbook for A4, it states any problems with loss of code Audi will assist free of charge. Hope this is correct because I m going to see them next week to sort mine.

Good luck - let us know if they do it for free. I doubt it. Audi have a strict capitalist gain policy...

FREE!? When I was purchasing service parts, the same Audi dealership was charging somebody £10 to put it on the machine for the code, little did they know that a few weeks earlier they hadn't charged me! Basically, go in and buy something while you are there, then they probably won't charge you.

Audi in Belfast quoted me 22 quid to get me code

Had no choice but to go to them, and one of my mates had just got a job there so they did it for nothing!!!! Nice try Audi

Just realising how true that statement is! Can not believe how much a diagnostic is! £123.00 hr!!!! Also can,t stand injustice! Will get my lycra suit on and make them honour their promise or eat their handbook!

Hmm tell us more about this lycra suit...

As far as I am concerned Audi are living up to their wonderful reputation - lets see how much we can make. If we all went to decent independent garages with diagnostic (most will have VAGCOM), they would soon have to cut prices...

Love the cars shame about the ********hips, and I used to think Volvo were bad - at least they didn't charge for simple things like Audio Codes!

Well, your perception of Audi dealers may be bad love. I didn't require my suit arter all.
They were lovely to me. paid an alarming 0.00. Recieved a coffee, also free of charge. Last but not least I got to spill huge quantities of drool & saliva over the R8.{ PHOOR!! Would give up bodily functions to have one!!! } I loved it!!!!!!!!
