    Default Audi A4, Major oil leak! – 03-02-2008,12:59 PM
    Hi guys, can anybody help?

    I've an '98 Audi A4 1.8 petrol, that's decided to dump all of it's oil.
    There no sign of pressure loss or water contamination in the oil. It all aapears to have spilt below the head gasket seal, and only on the right side of the engine bay as you look at it.

    Any ideas...

    sounds like oil pressure sensor has split.

    Had one go on my 1.8 ARD engine, lost a litre of oil in 20 miles ! right mess.

    sensor was on about £2 from GSF - www.gsfparts.co.uk

    little fiddly as under the rear of the air intake manifold.

    got it sorted...
    the dipstick has split, cheap repair....thankfully.
