I have an Audi A6 1.9Tdi automatic and have a problem with vibration on the vehicle, you can feel the vibration through the seat more than the steering.

I have fitted 4 new tyres, had all wheels balanced, had new C.V joints and C.V gaiters and am somewhat of a loss as to why the I can feel this vibration.

I have also have a problem that when I reverse out of the driveway and then engage forward gear sometimes the engine stalls which I find surprising on an automatic gearbox.
Someone has suggested it could be a problem with the gearbox imput shaft.

If anyone has any solution as to what the problem may be I would be very grateful to hear it.

Hi there Is your car a quattro? I have got a quattro and have the same problem,no vibration through the wheels at all but when driving down a duel carriage way at about 60 your backside starts to get a massage. If theres no one in the passenger seat you can put your hand on it and feel the vibration, the only thing I could think of is that the propshaft to the rear has become unbalanced.

    cheers matt

    Hi Matt,

No it is not a quattro, I wish it was, I have been thinking about the possibility of a driveshaft being bent or maybe out of balance, could still be a problem related to the input shaft of the gearbox.

From your description it sounds as if you have exactly the same problem, if I find a fix I will let you know.

    Thanks anyway
