    How do you reset the airbag light? I understand mine is on due to a faulty connection on the aribag wiring under the seat, but when the problem is resolved will it just go off or do i need to buy a VAG device to turn it off?

    Or will disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes clear the codes anyway?

    Also, is the connector hard to get to and do i need to remove the seat?

    cheers

    Sometimes they appear as a one off. You could get it reset via vagcom or at a decent local garage, shouldn't take them 5 mins. If it re-appears then there is a problem, but if not, then it was a one-off glitch. My Audi hasn't done this to me yet, but my old Vectra did. Disconnecting the battery etc doesn't work.

    Nice one Paul, how much do you think a local garage would charge to reset the airbag light? If it is more than the cost of than buying the equipment to do it myself then i won't bother..

    i think you can use the fre vag com software to reset the light and a kead from ebay at £10, you'll have it all then so wont need to go to a garage and am guessing at around £30 for your garage to do it

    Whats a Kead mate?

    Is this what i need to buy?;

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/USB-Diagnostic...sid=p1638.m124

    I presume i hook the car upto a laptop with these leads and the vagcom software installed and then reset the light? Is there an article where there is a walk through or more information on how to do this?

    Cheers
