    Hi,

    I have just purchased a 2004 VW Bora 1.9TDi 130 Highline from a non-VW garage.

When I started the car for the first time it beeped at me and said "serivce now". The guy from the garage did the "hold button A, turn key, turn button B, release B then A and key off".

The car no longer beeps or says "service now" when I start it, but if I hold button A in and switch the key to see how long it's got before the next service it says "Service Now".

I have searched here and on Google but the only answer seems to be what I have already tried, any suggestions?

I know the car has been serviced, there's a new air filter in and the oil change has also been done.

    Thanks

    Daz

    I did mine today by

    - Hold in trip reset

    - Turn ignition on

    - Turn clock set to the right

    Thats it!

i have the same car and mine does the same.

it will display" service now "until you have driven 500km(313miles) from the time it was reset by the garage,-so it is normal to say service now until you have covered 313 miles-that is what the owner's manual says.

so wait till you have driven 313 miles from the reset date and see if the message changes and tells you how many miles to the next service .

that is what i am going to do.

let us know what the outcome is as i also want to know.
