I had the remap on the 4th.



The reason i'm asking in to air filters is Jayson (chipped UK) thought or had a hunch or feeling, by looking at the curve on my BHP results that i may have an air intake issue and guessed that the air filter may not be seated correctly or blocked.



It has been inspected and can only go in one way, and if its in crooked then i would be unable to put the lid on it. It is seated correctly and clean.



I have however located an oily residue on the rear of the big black hose that goes to the part i had fitted last xmas. I believe this pipe carries air to the turbo, the pipe is approx 3" in diameter and is mounted front and centre between radiator and engine block. https://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/s...ad.php?t=25312

This was the part that i had replaced between xmas and new year 2006


and today i located an oily leak / residue at the rear of this pipe.

the part replaced was the flap motor housing and possibly the EGR as it all looks very clean.

I whizzed down to VW in Cov and spoke to a tech out the workshop who confirmed that there shouldn't be that much oil present but to expect a little residue and seals bed in etc etc. His opinion would suggest a slight split in the pipe which would widen thus affecting air flow when under load. This would also seem to confirm Jayson's (chipped uk) hunch that i had an air flow issue.

I'll get it booked it under extended warranty before Feb 10th.

May as well get it MOT'd at the same time.

also learned today its 4 years old so is due a cam belt change and tensioner.

what else should i look for on the reciept?
