New poster !!! Have just bought myself a 1992 K plate coupe, very nice car... has a heater problem though & hopefully someone can help/advise...
The heater is blowing cold air only, the heater dial is lose about half way round, also the temp gauge doesnt really move unless stuck in traffic. Are the 2 linked & is this an easy (cheap) fix, or is it a garage (expensive job.
Have already had to get a new dash cluster & am trying to source door trim as water getting into foot well. Other than that... all is good with car.
    Great to drive.

Sounds like you've a disconnected or damaged cable. Pop the bonnet run the engine and see if the 2 hoses going into the bulkhead are warming up (all the hoses should be getting hot). Obviously check theres water in the system!!, though a warning light and buzzer should sound if there isn't. If the hoses going into the heater matrix are getting hot then its most likely a cable prob. Easiest access is to remove the drivers side panel above the pedals - 8mm socket.

hi sound like you have a thermostate prob to as your car is warming in traffic and cooling down when on the move this will not help the heater and more importantly the engine will be overfuelling as the car still thinks its cold and thats not nice for the pocket or the engine

Have replaced heater control panel, was completley "mullered" behind front panel !!!
All seems ok at present, just need to source some door seals, get a damn good steam clean on the interior then will be very happy
