    Hello all,

A new member in London here.

    Have a 3dr Golf GTi 2.0, yr 2000, which I've had since 2001.

Now has 94k on the clock, but have it serviced by VW local specialist (not VW themselves as they drove me to despair!), and I regularly spend a fortune keeping it nice and sweet...

    Recent spendings this year include:
    new rear bushes
    new anti roll bar bushes
    new shocks all around
tyres and brakes all around - hey that's just a consumable though ;-)
new ariel mount on roof (cracked seal)
body work to remove dents that miscreant youths caused throwing bricks at my poor baby on guy fawlks night
    new tie rods
    gaitors all over the shop
beasty varta battery (which only just squeezes in :-))
the list goes on..... and on!

Have an LPG sequential injection conversion, which I've had since the CCharge came in, and I'm bloody loving both the car and the conversion every day that I drive it (which is most of them in the year). Nice and perky on the gas - better sometimes than petrol (especially on a nice cold winter morning - helps increase the compression ratio, which is favourable for LPG apparently). Is there anyone else out there with an LPG converted golf?

Happy to spend money keeping my baby running and looking nice, because she saves me over £1600 a year on the CCharge, and probably £1000 in feul bills - which means that I can still spend lots of money on keeping her sweet, and still save money - well I tell myself that anyway ;-)

Car is completely standard as a 2000 2.0 GTi, except for the LPG conversion and filler cap, the debadging at the rear (of course not the lovely VW sign), the change from nasty 2000 side indicators for the later clear ones, and addition of the front anniversary grille badge - but on the passnger side as that's where is should have been put, and was on the MK1!

Although I still have the standard gamma head, with cd changer in the rear, I run an amp from it in the boot with a sub and power capacitor - powered from the rear 12v socket with no problems - although the additional bass is nice, it seems to accentuate the rattles in the interior more and more with time, and severely restricts what can fit in the boot ;-)

Have had many of the common faults in the past - all of which I either had corrected by VW under warranty, or paid for since the expiration of the free extended warranty that they gave me for constantly ******* around when they did look after it - at pretty much every vw dealer I could find in north london and beyond. If anyone knows of what to look for next - coming uup to the 100k mark, then I'd appreciate a heads-up engine code is I believe APK).

Was just told about VAG COM by a friend today.. Vague searchings led me to find this forum which seems to be pretty well moderated and a good source of information with sensible replies to postings, which is nice to find...

Would be interested to speak to someone who knows more about VAG COM, both for diagnostics and for enabling features etc - for example, could I have auto roll-up of the windows, when I lock the car with the folding remote key fob? And is there anything else cool that can be done with it on my model?

Anyway - I'll stop bumbling along... Hope to post more useful threads and messages soon...
