Can't find MK1 repair manual

Every repair manual I see is for a MK1 Golf Cabrio 1980-85.

My car is a GTI 1987 model - does this matter?

any advice much appreciated.

I need to tinker with my engine but need a book first.

let me know exactly what model you've got and i'll ask round for you ! The mk1 golf was based on a vw scirroco have a look at haynes manual web site good luck.

thanks but I have since fund out from Haynes they did not do them as there wasn't much difference in the newer models and to use the 1984 one. I have borrowed my friends.
