Hi,I am a new member with a lot of VW miles under my belt, and my last two cars were a petrol V6 Passat motion which my son in law still drives with 136k on the clock (95 by me) and my own car a V6 TDI estate with 97k on the clock.
I had both of these cars from new, and they have given no real problems other than fair wear and tear.
I also ran about 5 various VWs as Sales cars and never had any real problems, so I am a big VW fan
I went to buy a new car recently but was not satisfied with what was on offer for a budget of £20k and so have decided to spend some money on my V6TDI and run it to the ground.
Reading other members problems in these forums will give me plenty of hours reviewing and then checking my vehicle for what are deemed to be commom problems on Passats, although I have never experianced any of them.

I have just ordered a VAG-COM Cable and I going to tackle a single din to double din conversion and fit a Navi Unit.as my 1st projects
I will post a guide with pics.

Hello and welcome to the forum!!!

(Normally) people only look for forums when they have problems.... Glad you've had relatively trouble free motoring, and look forward to your write-up!

1st Thanks to all for their welcome posts.

Progress to date:- Purchased a VAG-COM and reset the service indicator with ease, but wary of touching anything else.
I also found out that my Parrot system gives the K line prob. which some aftermarket radio's do also. (this can blow dealers diagnostic equipe)

Purchased MCD version "G" Navi Sat from Ebay, arrived safe and in good nick and appears to be working fine. (not from Lithiunia)
Awaite Double Din Conversion Kit from Germany to complete installation.

One problem I have to overcome, which is that my FIS display comunicates via a 3 line Bus, which the MFD "G" does not support, so I need a (CAN- Gateway )or a (TMC Gateway) either will do I believe, to make the display recieve and display the turn info.
Any one got one for sale or can offer any help on this matter.
    Richard.
