OK, I feel really dumb asking this one. I got my old Passat TD L Umwelt (AAZ) back from garage with replacement engine fitted just before Christmas. I got a VAG-Com cable for work on my Sharan but would like to do a check on the Passat. After a lot of poking around both on the car and in these forums I still cannot find the diagnostic connector socket! Is there one?
    Cheers, OD

I have a '95 estate, the diagnostic is to the right of the radio and the cover looks like it is a 1'' speaker or sensor or something, just above the steering wheel adjuster. It just clips out and in.

Hi - can you remember where the connector interface was located on your old Sharan?

"Pull the ash tray insert out." - and for the avoidance of doubt, it's the one between the driver and passenger footwells :-) OD
