The battery in my BORA 4MOTION is kaput (22% capacity) and I need a new one asap. I'd bought one from PARTCO but realised when I got home that I couldn't fit it as it was nearly 5cm too long. PARTCO took it back but couldn't understand as, according to their system, it was the correct one for the car.

Every parts website I've looked at, including VW group only site car-partsonline.co.uk, returns the same result, - that the battery is 278mm long. This simply will not physically fit. The existing battery is approx 235mm long and sits in a cradle with a sliding cover.

Why can't I find the actual size battery I need? More to the point, where can I get one without resorting to a Vokswagen dealership and incurring serious cost?
