    Hi
Some time ago I left my Bora 52plate 1.9 TDI in a garage to replace a rear bumper and do some small bits. When they finished my keyfob stopped working and now you can only open doors with the key. They couldn't repair it so they sent the car to VW dealer. Breeze in Soton said that the main fuse have blown and replacement takes about 3h (costs more than £200 ).
The garage said it's not their fault.
What should I do? Does it really take 3h to replace a blown fuss?

Hi,the fuses are either on top of the battery(and fusible links) or in the end of the dash. There are some up near the back of the dash cluster too.
More likely is the problem i've had numerous times.According to my handbook if the fob is pressed for any length of time(like when it's in your pocket etc.)it loses it's memory and needs re-programming to the car. It's simple to do with full instructions in your hand book and it's FREE.Do all your keys not work?

They have already tried to re-program the fob. Still no effect.
Apparently another garage (that deals with electronic problems) confirm this fuss can be replaced only in VW dealer.
    I don't believe it.
