I have just used my first tank of fuel on my 2001 130 tdi and jumped on the internet to find out what my average mpg has been for the past 416 miles!!!
i was quite surprised!!! only 37.7!!!
now ok i might off been abit foot heavy at first to test the car out but not to much and i was quite disapionted!!!!
is that a normal figure you gentlmen (and ladies) would expect

    Short answer - No.

Driving a 130PD in a spirited manner usually yields around 550 miles for me.

Better behaved and I can achieve 630 miles per tank.

On my 130PD SE (RIP) I once achieved 700 miles on a tank

Hehe, thats why I bought a diesel!

Before the Passats I owned a Honda CR-V and was draining 50 litres in four days (around 250 miles) - seemed like the petrol station was my second home

How I wish I'd wasted less money by getting a Passat diesel wayyyy sooner!

I travel 33 miles to work, almost all motorway. I must admit that i 'toe' it when I can but as anyone who drives the M54 will tell you, toddling along at 60-70 mph is more typical than not owing to there being only 2 lanes and lorry drivers doin 58 mph still deem it necessary to overtake those doing 57 .
    I digress - - -I get maybe 55mpg in my 54 Passat 1.9 130bhp jobbie.
Just my two penneth - -
