Recently the fuel gauge on my Mk3 TDi has started to randomly display what may, or may not, be in the tank. Sometimes a 3/4 tank will be empty and then as l am driving along it returns to normal and also when l start the vehicle the diesel fairy seems to have added a 1/4 tank worth which will then disappear after 5-10 miles. For the past couple of days l have done 200 miles on an empty tank even though l know there is over 1/2 a tank in there!!

Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated as l know one day soon l am going to lose track of whats in there and end up sheeply standing on the motorway awaiting the orange flashing lights to rescue me.

They may help you diagnose it before you resort to a serviced unit, I haven't used them but it could be usefull to speak to them.
