    Hi all.
I was away from the forum for a few months while moving house and having a nightmare with my ISP and now........I'm back.

Anyways, since i've came back i've noticed that the car specific sections have all been split up. I don't know how everyone else feels but i have a wee opinion on this subject. Why?, Why? & Why?

My reasoning is that a lot of these cars are very similar and i feel should be grouped together again. Take the golf for example. I have a problem with some part of my car so i post it in the Mk IV Golf section. Joebob (made up name) knows a really quick fix for my fault but as he's now sold his MkIV and moved on to a MkV or got married and bought a Bora/Passat () etc, he no longer looks in the MkIV golf section and spends his days snoozing in the Bora or MkV section and misses all the action and my fault in the MkIV golf section.

A sad state of affairs i think you'll all agree (that'll teach him for getting married!!).
As you can probably tell what i think (see rubbish example above). I was just thinking what everyone else thinks?

Hi des. I hope the move went ok for you.
From my point of view, i was a supporter of dividing the vw section up, reason being, there was so much going on, any one who wanted an answer would be looking for ages. Although i don't disagree with you about various models being similar, mk4 golf and bora, mk5 golf and new jetta.
These 2 examples that currently form 4 sub sections could possibly be merged to 2 sections due to the similarity of the vehicles. However, this system was trialed a while back with the passat section and it was clearly accepted and has now been rolled out further.
Imo, the dividing of sections also helps to encourage visitors and members to browse the forum easily and it shows how organised we are.
I hope this answers your query ok

I see your point but i still think it detracts a bit from the forum. Maybe i just like to see other peoples faults. Guess i'll just have to pop from section to section (don't want to feel that i'm missing summit!!!)

Ah ha, well what you need to tell Joebob is that he can check every single new post by clicking on New Posts.

Then he, like me, can help everyone

Considering selling my VCDS KEY-USB interface. If you're interested please contact me via PM or email.
