    Hello!

I have an Audi A4 B8 (2013) 2.0 TDI car. One day it gave me a "Steering Lock : Contact workshop!" fault, when I started the car. The steering wheel locks and unlocks perfectly when starting and stopping the car, there is no issue with the steering or the steering lock at all, it locks and unlocks itself.

Yesterday the car didn't want to start, after pressing the key and the clutch down multiple times repeatedly it started. Drove it for 30 minutes, was sitting in a parking lot for 30-40 minutes, maybe even an hour, the fault code disappeared, the car started as usual with no problems at all. Today it threw out the fault code again, but this time the car starts normally, I just have the "Steering Lock : Contact Workshop" issue. Sometimes it disappeares and comes back right after starting it again , sometimes the fault does not come back on for a couple of days.
The car was at a mechanic, the VCDS software didn't gave any fault codes for some reason, the mechanic couldn't clear the fault.

    Any ideas?

The system is very sensitive to an even slightly weak battery.

So is there anything I can do? The battery was changed not even 2 months ago.

You say there were no codes but he could not clear the fault, can you get a full car VCDS scan and post it?

Terminal 15 is the ignition live feed, we need to see a full car scan. preferably VCDS, and include the VIN as there my be other faults in different controllers which are relevant.

Still could not get a VCDS scan, because I do not have the software. The car does not start anymore only if my foot is on the clutch and push in the key several times until it randomly starts, but for the most part only ignition , nothing else.

The "Steering Lock : Contact Workshop." fault is still on the dashboard , if the start-stop system stops the car, I put my foot back on the clutch, it start everytime without any problems. Only the key does not start the car.

I sounds like the column lock unit is faulty.
