    Hi Guys,

Got a 2014 GTD that had has a bad water leak in through the cabin air intake under the scuttle panel. Result is soaked passenger side of car both footwells. As it's so bad I've removed the entire carpet and under carpet fabric insulation, but the black top foam insualtion in front of the carpet going up behind the glove box is still in the car. Is it possible to remove this without some severe dismantling? It's just not drying out in this weather so want to get it inside to properly dry out. Same question for a Mk5 Golf driver's side too if it's similar. It's been a bad few weeks!

    Thanks!

That is dash out, invest in a dehumidifier and take the passenger's seat out so it can sit there.

Thanks for the reply. All of the seats and carpets/underlay, door cards, boot linings are already out of the vehicle. Have propped the foam up to give it some air and had fan heater running pointed at it with windows cracked open for hours but still the foam is soaked. I'm actually tempted to cut that section out to remove it for drying as the vast majority of the insualtion above where the fan was dripping seems dry. Can't imagine a cut in the insualtion having much effect on soundproofing.

A dehumidifier is much better than a fan heater, it causes the fluid to wick to the surface and evaporate and the machine catches the water. Mrs Crasher has one going permanently on the landing to absorb all the moisture expelled at night by her hot sweaty snoring grease monkey husband... and the fat cat!

Thanks, any recommendation for a suitable one? Want to keep costs to a minimum (of course!). I have noticed the dampness really does head for the lowest point so might get quite a bit out with some good old squeezing and mopping up.
