We had a T5 where injectors 3&4 blew out because the bolt snapped. This was REALLY annoying because the engine was a £5700 of brand new VW exchange unit from TPS that managed less than 100 miles before this failure. The bolt for injectors 1&2 was also loose, appalling quality control by VW and we found three other garages locally which had experienced the same problem.

Thanks for the info, the shaking is quite pronounced from the floor or you can feel it shuddering quite bad under your seat, also there isn't any check engine lights at all.... wouldn't a bad or leaking injector throw a light or code?

Ok after complete clutch replacement including flywheel it is still doing it, so the traction control light and ABS light have been intermittently staying on, now they think the sensors are at fault, with the traction control system constantly trying to adjust while accelerating causing the shaking.... sounds plausible to me! They checked and double checked the injectors which seem to be fine.

A duff sensor can make the ESP interfere, I have seen it a few times with rusty wheel bearings magnetic rings. Logging and studying the wheel speed values whilst it is acting up could be helpful.

That's exactly what the tech said.... recommends changing the wheel bearings too. Parts are on order, will let you all know the outcome in a week or so... thanks!
