I've managed to acquire an oem electric swivel towbar, which im hoping to install on my late 2016 Q7. Looking at the PR codes my q7 doesnt have towbar prep. So i'm wondering if anyone has previously retrofitted the oem swivel towbar and would be able to share any info.
From the research i have already done i will need the towbar module 4M0 907 383 and the switch for in the boot. Also i'll need the wiring that goes between the towbar module and the convenience module?
Is there anything else i will need?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Longer bolts, the crash bar you will remove has shorter bolts holding it on.

Aside from that, it's a relatively easy physical install, install the loom and module in the boot, bumper off, bolt the bar on, cut the bumper, back on.

Coding is not so simple, lots of modules need to know about the new addition, but that's possible also 👍

    Paul,

Thanks for your reply, do you know if the loom is available from audi or is the Kufatec loom the best option? I have VCDS for the coding, however need to find the details of what coding changes are required?
Did you do the install yourself?

Audi do supply the loom I think, as you can get the bar fitted by a dealer, but maybe part of a full kit only!? See 4M0092157

Kufatek or similar for the loom should be fine.

VCDS for the coding is fine, I got it working mostly myself without to much hassle, Andy then finished it off 😀 A trip to the dealer could loose the coding though :/

Does anybody have any installation instructions for the module & wiring loom. Got a loom but it doesn't come with any installation instructions?

You need the wiring diagram (elsawin), all fairly simple on the q7 as everything connected to the rear fusebox from memory.
