    Hi Guys,

I've had warnings of low battery during the cold spell we've just had. As the car and its battery are now 7+ years old, I decided to change the battery before it stops altogether. So I bought and installed a nice new Varta G14 this morning.

However, I'd like to recode the car to let it know.

I don't have OBDeleven ou VCDS, so I'm just looking at the cheapest app that would let me do it. I don't need anything fancy. I have access to both an iPhone and and Android phone, so no preference there.

Anyone can share their experience / advice?

    TIA

Well, we're still confined, so wouldn't want to bother anyone. And I'm not a pro, that's probably the most I'd do. That and read / clear codes as and when, if needed.

    Thanks, I'll look into Carista.

    Can Torque pro do it?

I don't think so. You get a free month with Carista when you buy their adapter.
I haven't changed a battery with it though. Might be worth looking at their FB group if you can.

Well I would need that, and it's £99 I think. Also they use "credits", and I'm not keen to have to fork out more if I want to use it on my car (or any other).

I understand it's their business model, I'm not criticising. I just think I'm not their target (and don't really fancy being it)

You can get 5 free credits a day, which you use on “apps” (which are like coding shortcuts). Diagnostics are free and if you buy the pro long coding is free as well. It’ll cost you about £60 if your using an android device. Plus you can download the app now and start building up your credits.
