I have an a4 avant b6 1.9tdi with the dreaded cvt box, i have papework for a brand new transmission along with clutch pack etc back in 2013

When in drive the car will judder when pulling away almost like stalling a manual, if i gently give it throttle it will pull away fine, when movong it drives and shifts perfectly, no judder when coming to a stop or when actually moving though. When sat in drive the car doesnt want to take off when releasing the brake like a normal automatic does too, i have to accelerate for it to move.

Currently waiting for the special key to turn up to be able to service the box to see if that makes a difference but does anyone have any idea what could be causing it?

Also does anyone know where i would be able to order/buy a replacement clutch pack if thats possibly the issue?

I also have the cvt. So far I have had the display flashing and luckily this was rectified by the place I bought it from. As time went on the car juddered would not pull away properly and the reverse was not good. I eventually gave in after putting a new clutch/flywheel in and having the oil changed twice. I took it to a gearbox specialist who charged the best part of £2.7k to rebuild the box. I would not say it is perfect as I still get judders occasionally and the reverse clunks more often than not. I guess what I am trying to say is the cost of this repair will be more than the car is worth. I have spent in the region of £7k over the last 4 years to keep the b6 1.9 tdi saloon on the road. When I drive it the ride is very good and with the new turbo (£2K repair job) my conclusion is that next time it goes wrong I will buy another car.

Mine only does it in drive, im hoping a flush and new fluid and then an adaptation fixes it, it already had a new box and clutch etc so im ruling that out for now, but if worst comes to worst im a fully qualified technician so if i can source the parts ill rebuild it all, i havent had any lights flashing or any fault codes for it so i dont think its fatal yet

The only source I know is genuine, the two forward disc sets 01J 398 944 and 01J 398 941 come to £145.10 but there are a few other parts need to install them such as gasket set, circlips and of course, fluid. If you search "01J rebuild" there is quite a lot of info and service kits.
