    This is my first post on here. Hello. Its a Audi A6 Avant 2.7 TDI 191 K miles A6 C6 4F5 09C

Need some help with a non working blower. I read a lot of the threads on this and there is not much clarity on the cause.

I got a Ross tech scanner and did a full scan, cleared some codes and was left with the following relevant ones see below:

Is this the 00256 G395 A/C pressure/Temperature Sensor and 02071 local databus that is the fail or is it the 01320 climatronic J255 that is causing the fault. I will try to clear the faults 01317 and 01320 next but I don't think they are the issue as the blower only stopped on the 19th Jan 2021 and those are older.

If someone can confirm the next thing to do that would be great - I am thinking change the G395 sensor.

    Gordon

So I cleared the control head faults and the did not come back after swithcing off ignition and restarting. I now have just the two below so that says to me replace the G395 sensor and try it? Please could someone confirm. I guess if that does not work then its going to be wiring which means getting to the blower connections.

It's usually just the blower motor or speed controller that fails.

Try switching on ignition & fan speed to high, then give the blower motor a good thump from below.( passenger footwell )
It might just spring into life if it's the motor brushes stuck, which is quite common.

So I undid the top of the front bumper and tried to remove the connector on the G395 sensor. That bust the top clean off it (not very strong!) and its all corroded inside at the electronics - see attached pic.

Remove connector from bust bit, start car and the blower springs into life.

So the failed G395 sensor was jamming up the Lin bus that also controls the blower fan speed. Now waiting for the new sensor to come and to see if I can do it without taking the bumper right off. If I can I will post pics.

I hope this helps with others diagnosis - it would be very easy to try to take out the fan or the fan controller first. The clue is in the local data-bus 02071 fault and I think that the fan was running very slowly - I could just hear it with the engine off and ignition on.
