leaking wind screen washer bottle

Bit misleading title as i know what the problem is

basically was doing some cleaning of the inner arches and the wings, on the left side of the car the (lower) part
of the washer bottle was blocking access to the front of the wing, so i removed it

now i know the leak is where the (lower) bottle attaches to the upper, there is a sort of rubber/plastic (collar)
unfortunately i unexpectedly needed to the the car the next day, so it got a little rushed putting it back together

so before i take it all apart, id be interested to know it there is a specific way on how it should be done?

only want to do this once, so any help advise welcome

A quick fix, or permanent. I had the same issue. Pull the top part off and apply some sealant around the rubber seal area. Refit and allow to set. This should cure this leaking.

Thanks for the suggestion, id prefer a permanent fix

i was thinking along the same lines but surely there is a way to do it right?

i need to get this done over the next few days while ive got the time, so any advise welcome
