Hi while changing the fuel filter on my S4, ive seemed to have broken one of the clips in the connector

i looked at a few guides first and all seemed pretty straight forward, but having used a screwdriver on the connector
pushed in (as done by others) ive chipped/broken the clip/connector

so i put it back on and it is locked in place, but i obviously still want to change the filter
so basically want to know the best course of action? id probably like to replace the connector as a whole
but would need some advise on what i need and actually the best way to replace it (a link to the parts would be ideal)

the clip thats broke/damaged is on the (out) line to the front of the car

it seems the connectors are pushed into the tubing, but id be looking at a way of getting it a little hot
    to remove/replace the new connector

obviously with the fuel and vapors in the area this is going to be difficult, anyone done this?

currently the cars all back together including the under trays, so no pictures available

from what ive looked into, there are two types of connector for the fuel lines

the connectors i have, have a plastic (collar) inside that get pinched together (if you`ve got the proper tool)

or the newer ones that are more like standard connectors, which can be pinched together with your fingers
