Good morning so after looking at the Jetta the weekend which I have walked away from, dont ask pictures on the net are deceiving🤷*♂️ I知 now looking at a 2015 b8 1.6 120ps Passat. Again I知 sorry for all the questions are these cars ok? I understand that these never needed the emission update? I maybe wrong also they are not the same CAYC ENGINE as before or do I still avoid like the plague? Thanks for reading 👍

There have been a large number of cam module failures on pre 2018 production and we have had two, a friend of mine described the sound as "like a skeleton ******* in a biscuit tin" and we have had a couple of very high mileage taxis of various VAG brands suffering low oil pressure. If the cam module fails, it is a 」2K job to fit the updated unit. The EGR coolers are a joke and number 3 glow plug tends to fail which is 」118 genuine.

The terms of the warranty being “mechanical breakdown” or blanket coverage including “wear and tear” 99% of the warranties I have seen in 40 years are not worth their weight in toilet paper. The RAC warranty USED to be very good but they off loaded it to some characters who took the ****.

I am tempted to say “many years before Her Hitler thought of The Volkswagen” but rationally I would say “EU5” is where it all went wrong. I popped out to my bespoke engineers today and came back to a 2009 model A3 in the end bay being worked on and it stank, right up the car park... I said to the tech “bet that’s a BMN” and he looked on the cam belt cover and then said, “you are a sad ****”. Diesel is an awful technology that has no place in anything another than commercial vehicles and its use, I think, is to blame for the ban on IC engines.
