Weird loud grinding sound before engine start!

Hello everyone, i'm wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar to this:

Before i start the engine i press the on button so the electroncs can do their business, there are buzzing and humming noises, which are perfectly normal. However, a couple of times a loud grinding -drilling like, noise sounded for about two seconds! One time the car was cold and the other happend when the car was driven for about an hour!

I have a 1.5 150 HP LIFE version, purchased last month with almost 1000km.

Any thoughts?

Yea thats not normal, take it to the dealer to check it out. Make sure you record the noise and show them it!

I’ve heard this too on mine once or twice, randomly! Not sure what it is. Kinda sounds like ABS brakes being applied (except the car is stationary). It hasn’t occurred enough times for me to have hope that my VW garage would know what it is I’m trying to describe or be able to find what the issue is. The two times it did happen, was when 1) someone sat into the car rather quickly whilst it was parked on a slight incline & 2) when someone got out of the car when it was parked on gravel. So I thought perhaps it’s something to do with the parking break to prevent the car slipping whilst parked? I’m waiting to see if it happens again and what the circumstances are of when it happens, to better describe it to the garage - (but that might be a while given current covid lockdown means I’m rarely driving the car)

Dear friend, I had this after the purchase. it turned out to be a hundred cranked inserts. I had to watch the history of the car before buying.
