    Hi Guys,

Recently bought a Mk5 Golf GT TDI 2.0 2007 its been mapped and had an EGR Delete at some point in its life. Basically it started leaking coolant found that the rad and expansion tank were leaking so i replaced those, sort of fixed the problem but its still leaking under pressure.
All the hoses and clamps at the front of the car appear dry with no sign of coolant anywhere, same with the underside and back of the engine - doesnt leak when its not running only under presure. Ive had the car on axle stands and got it up to temperature and coolant is just ******* out of where the diesel cooler pipes go in to the frame, its pretty significant - bit like a tap thats not been turned off properly - As far as i know diesel coolers are a standalone cooler and arent actually connected to the cooling system in anway? might be wrong on that as its the first diesel car ive worked on.

trying to work it out and cant for the life of me - water pump appears dry. No steam or dripping happening in and around the crank pulley internal heating is a bit sporadic on the car if that has anything to do with it Really stuck on this is therer anything I should look for Ive put a picture of where its leaking from 136339618_975383556322902_2106715817592373376_n.jpg136932466_182860283568485_4619711305905688032_n.jpg

I’m not that clued up on the diesel Mk5’s......but.....With leaks you need to get everything bone dry then, get it up in the air and get a good torch and get hunting for where the leak is coming from.

You’ve replaced the radiator and the expansion tank which helps rule those out and you’ve said the hoses and connections are all ok...

Guess you need to start looking at other items....could it be the heater matrix is bad or water pump?

If heating in car is sporadic did you look at replacing thermostat (my golf Mk5 has 2 of these so if yours does check both or better still replace them). Could also be a dodgy temperature sensor these are cheap enough and would recommend buying VAG genuine parts only for these.

    Not sure I’ve helped....

What those pictures you’ve got showing? I can’t see any leaks obviously?
