    Hello
another question for you fine folk.

i have been having battery warning lights on my car lately, so purchased a new 110Ah varta battery.
installed no issues, also using VCDS i re-coded using 19-Canbus and adaption, as no BEM module on car.

since then, 2 errors - I have an ABS error showing in engine management, but nothing in the ABS module showing. One wheel sounds like its making a noise going round corners, so potentially abs sensor / wheel bearing needs replacing.

the other more annoying, Im still getting battery warning message on my dash with a brand new battery and re-coded.
it’s at 12.8v at standstill - yet Im getting that sodding yellow message when I turn ignition on.
iv’e checked Vcds and voltages appear fine on standstill and while running. Checked canbus measuring values 18,19,20 and state of charge displays 13% ! Though battery is brand new and voltages are excellent.
i thought re-coding was supposed to reset all that? Codes accepted, so no idea what the issue is!

anyone have any advice on what could be wrong to show 13% charge on a new battery, though voltages are high?

    cheers

It most likely that the battery has been left for a long time in the shop and not charged fully before selling it on to you.

You need to put on a battery charger for some time to see if the CCA rating increases.

Taken car on some longer drives, and all appears well with battery. No error codes any more.

however, my fuel pump no longer primes on first turn of the key of the day - it used to prime, and could hear it prime as soon as ignition was turned to 1st position. Now it wont. If i start car, I can hear it prime as soon as engine switches off. And If I turn key again it primes, but it won’t prime from ‘cold’.
not checked pressures etc. Engine seems to run fine. Since this cold weather has come along this niggle came with it - thought it was related to battery issue but appears not.

I can't see any TPI's about it as it reminded me of one. The fuel pump obviously works and it is solely commanded by the engine ECU so I can't think of an explanation as to why the priming isn't happening.

You need to get a meter or bulb wired across the pump to see if its getting power when you turn on from cold.

If it is & still not running you will need new pump.
These pumps sometimes go intermittent & fail, then work again once they get some mechanical vibration or jolt.
