Has anyone had any issues of the drivers door lock not functioning properly?

    My car has keyless entry.
the auto locking light on the door panel has stopped illuminating even after driving for a while.
the drivers door is not un-locking from outside even though the other doors are un-locking.

could it be a poor connection or door lock failure?

    Will VCDS pick anything up?

How is the door card removed?

    What a Christmas present.

More than likely the door lock mechanism. It’s a common fault and needs to be changed. I’m half way through trying to do this myself but can’t get the old lock out. Need a bit of rethink - didn’t want to take the whole door and window mechanism apart but looks like I may have to. Fortunately I don’t need the car so if it’s in bits it’s not a huge issue for me.

Did you buy a new lock mechanism, if so how much and where from, or Fleabay?

Yeah I bought a new aftermarket lock from Fleabay - I got it from EU Autoparts and it comes with 2 years warranty. I have both the drivers and passenger side to change so hope I can learn from the first one.

Do you mind me asking what they cost?
Do you have the part number for the drivers side?
Does your car have central locking and key less entry?

I used the following YouTube videos to help

This to remove the door card - Audi A6, S6, RS6, Allroad C6/4F 2004-2011, Door Panel Removal - How To Remove the Door Panel - YouTube

This shows you how to remove the door lock without dismantling the whole door (although I have not been able to replicate this yet) - How to remove door lock Audi A6 C6 - YouTube

This is the full on how to remove the door panel and window frame/guide to get to the lock (it’s in German though) - Audi A6 4F Türschloss wechseln | change the door lock | VitjaWolf | Tutorial | HD - YouTube

I have found some other forum discussions explaining “how to guide” but I can’t find quite at this time.
