Just been locked out of my B6 estate. The key fob is in the ignition with the engine running.. But the central locking seems to have been in lock mode when I shut the door. The bonnet was open , so I've turned off the engine by removing a 50A fuse. Does anyone know if I can control the central locking through the engine bay somehow?

In that situation (as I was twice not long back) I called out a car lock company and they used a device to pick the lock, on a T5 it took the chap about 30 seconds. It happens when the convenience system does not see the ignition is on and on the T5 it was the ignition switch.

Apparently the plastic emergency keys are only cut with a few variations. I can open one or two other 2007 passat front doors in my area with my emergency key, fortunately both are friends.

I just thought there may have been a way of manipulating the locking from the engine bay. Anyway, I borrowed a friends breaking-in kit (bladder and wire). I was lucky the ignition was still on so it was easy to tap the window buttons...
