My rear passenger side door is completely dead, nothing works, my scanner reports "no signal communication rear left j388 control module". Cannot even open the door from the inside or outside using the handles, I've checked the fuse and that is OK, I believe it is the same fuse for both rear doors so both doors would be affected if it was the fuse so its either the wiring or the control module itself.

I cannot understand why the door won't open from the inside with the handle I would have thought that would be manual for safety reasons.

Anyone know how i can open the door so I can check the wiring to the control module, need to get this sorted as it won't pass the MOT if the door won't open.

If it is the control module can I just buy a replacement and fit it or does it need to be coded to the car.

It could be a broken wire or a control module. Do a scan and save the coding incase the new module needs the coding programmed in. Its easier to copy it from a scan than to try and work it all out yourself.
