    Hi gang,

Could someone weigh in with their expertise to explain what these refer to? Car is a 5t Touran:

    1) "Introductory volume"
    2) "Operating permit, alteration"
    3) "Overhead console" - My car has the sunroof option, so not sure what this refers to?
    4) "ECO function" - Does this just mean it has eco mode in the driver profile selection settings? Why is this mode called out specifically on the build sheet if so?
    5) "Luggage compartment floor" - As my car has the two fold-down rear seats that when folded form the boot floor, I'm not sure what this is about?
    6) "Car-Net "Guide & Inform" - I understand what Car-Net is but the guide and inform piece?

Would really appreciate it - we are loving the car - it is perfect for our needs (although I can't seem to get much better than 45-47 MPG even with eco-driving techniques, full load tyre pressures etc.), I just want to be able to make full use of the features.

    Cheers!

The actual PR code itself is more important than the description which can often be wrong or badly translated from German. I had to use the PR code on a CC I was doing today to identify which type of tyre pressure measurement it had. The "introductory volume" means it is an early production example so possibly a 2016my vehicle built early 2016, say a VIN around WVGZZZ1TZGW557000 area for February 2016 build at Wolfsburg and for the right hand drive market so the operating permit may have been tweaked to get the car on sale before full type approval was issued. There are five different variations of luggage floor, Pr 5KM, 5KP, 5KS, 5KL and 5KT so that aids in ordering spare parts. There are variations in the overhead consul such as Pr-7N6 and then various color codes so again, the PR codes help with spare parts identification. When a dealer or registered specialist enters the VIN into their system, the PR codes help identify what is fitted rather than the person having to trawl through all the options and modern cars have a huge range of variations, many market specific. The system is called "FI Suggestion" and it should not be taken as written in stone because as I said, PR codes descriptions and interpretation can be erroneous.
