Audi is currently (until 24/12) offering its service package (1 Inspection + 1 oil) service for a 10% discount (£479.10).

I had avoided this package previously as it only worked if you were on a fixed rather than variable service plan. However given how few miles my car has done in the last 9 months and the liklihood that 2021 is still going to be a low mileage year I will get them to switch the car tot he fixed plan at the service and therefore the plan makes sense. Will save about £300 off the cost of the 2 services seperately. Interesting comment from the service advisor when booking it that they cannot do a service, regardless of whether you are on a plan or not, unless the service indicator is showing a service is due.

Alos advised that my car (a 40TDi) was due the starter/alternator recall. I was under the impression this was for the petrol cars only. Parts are on back order so may not get done anyway. Is due an MMI update as well and hopefully they will sort out the Assist systems issue we have all discussed on hear at great length. Will report back in January after the service is done

Had the same offer when mine went in for a service last week but didn't take them up on the offer. Mine is on the fixed term and only had 3700 miles on the clock and the next service is due in a year.

They changed my alternator too (40TDi).

When I booked the car in in I was advied it was due 2 safety re;ated recalls, one being the startner/alternator replacement and the other relating to the MMI system. Since I have had the car I have been affected by the issue that when using Apple CarPlay the left hand 1cm of the screen does not respond to touch meaning amongst other things you cannot zoom the maop in Apple Maps, if you are using it instead of the built in navigation. The service assitant rattled off a whole list of things the MMI update fixed but could not specifically confirm this was included, hoewever it did mention operability so here's hoping.

Regrading the Assist Systems, again from new, I have had the issue where when you stop the car for a few minutes and then restart it, none of the camera based systems (Lane Assist, Pre-Sense, Traffic Sign or High Beam Assist) work. There seemed to be no specific update flagged against my car for this so I have raised a specific issue. I am also hoping I will get the new transmission software to address the issue with getting occassional lag on acceleration

    Hope that clarifies the issues

    Perfect, thank you.

Received the letter today that my 12 mth old 40 Tdi needs the starter/alternator replacement.

Not due its first service till November 2021, so will look to get it booked in.

I have found my first niggle today, not rattle related.

When trying to open the drivers door from inside. It does not release and feels like you have deadlocks on, which I do not.

It did finally open & let me out. On closing the door again I could hear the door solenoid & again could not open the door inside.

Sounds like a new door motor, which is rubbish for a car 12 mths old & little use due to COVID.

My car is booked in next Friday to investigate door lock & carry out recall for starter/alternator.

No other recalls on my 69 plate 40 Tdi
