Make sure you have a good breakdown service, or a car with an engine to follow you to tow it home.

I am not so concerned about those wealthy enough to drop that much cash on a new car as they will probably get another one in five years. What worries me is young cash strapped motorists in around twenty plus years time, trying to get around or like I did, try fixing my ten year old first car with poor experience and tools, a lot of people are going to die in a very unpleasant manner or they are going to have to tightly control who can buy one and who can work on them and even that won’t work.

Just like the Part P Building Regs restricting householder electrical work. Law abiding types that can afford it now get someone in to to do the work. Those who don't know the rules, don't care about them or can't afford to meet them don't.

Any laws attempting to stop DIY work on 400 and 800 volt EV systems will only apply in reaction to an incident at the inquest and in possible Police action later... it is not a matter of IF but WHEN. As I keep telling people, you can spill a drop of petrol and get away with it, you cant get away with spilling a bit of 400v...
