    Hi

Hope someone can offer some advice. I've changed out the serpentine belt on my 2007 A6 C6.. The belt tensioner is not running on center.
I was told the the front of the body has to be removed to change this out. Is this correct ? I thought this may be a diy I could do myself.

    Thanks in advance

    Eugene

You’ll have to remove the bumper, but you can put the lock carrier into it’s service position - it pulls the rads / crash bar out a few inches - but will give you enough room to get your hands to parts. You will need some special tools - or make up your own.

im thinking of doing mine shortly, think dome M8 threaded rod should fit into the slider positions.

How to replace timing belt (cambelt) and water pump on 2.0 tdi engine (Audi A6, C6 4F) - YouTube

It's all in the first part of this video.

If you don't have the bolts to extend out the carrier you can use a couple of blocks of wood to push the carrier forward just support it from the bottom to prevent it dropping.
