    Hi.
    I'm new to this...
My Golf has been starting to to run ever so irregular. One minute, I have loads of power. Then it goes into limp mode. Turn off the ignition key, and back on. It resets itself.
I asked a couple of guys who I know, and was advised that it could be many reasons. Anyway, I was advised the other day, that my Hydraulic lifts (Tappets) are failing. And possibly the Camshaft has excessive wear on the lobes.
I gave into a mechanic to have the Camshaft done and Hydraulic lifters (Tappets), also the Oil pump.
Have now been advised that one of the Rocker shafts on injector 3 has snapped in two, sheared two of the four retaining bolts.
Can any of you guys please advise why this may have happened. I like my Golf, to be honest, I've spent a small fortune on it.
    Need some impartial advise.

    Thanks

If the bolts failed after reassembly then they were not new as they should be, they are one time only... I suspect someone screwed up.
