Hi I have a audi A6 C7 2012 s line model and the hazard switch does not work. both indicators work fine and when locking and unlocking the indicators works fine but when I press the hazard switch nothing happens. I changed the hazard switch from a Audi A6 2015 and it still didn't work and none of the fuses have gone I have checked the connection o reach one and there is power coming through. what could it be? any help please as I can't pass mot and I have been taking it to places in Manchester and they can't seem to find a fault. a few said you need a new control modular. but won't that affect the whole cars lights/power though?

    Thanks

Does the 2015 switch match the part number of your 2012 old switch? I assume you have a second hand one, are you sure it works?
I had to replace my hazard switch module twice on my 2001 C5 A6, so they weren't reliable back then, perhaps you have fitted a broken second hand one?

If you have access to VCDS, you should be able to see the status of all switches in the measuring blocks. If the indicators are working, and also when un/locking, I doubt it's the controller, more like the switching or wiring connected to it.
Another thought to explore, is some controllers are located under the carpet in the footwells, and can suffer water ingress from blocked drains in the plenum chamber. Damp inside can corrode connectors, but standing water inside causes all sorts of erratic problems and / or total failure. I don't know where the controllers are mounted on the C7.

Hi thanks for the reply. It possibly could be a faulty switch that I tried it was from a breaking Audi A6 from a garage I went to. he said it was from a 2015 audi but even the new face models from that year had the same part number so not sure to be honest. I have ordered another switch from online 2013 s line saloon with same model number hopefully this should work. does any one know if the hazard connector at the back is suppose to have 2 wires connected to it or ore as I say some with 3 or 4 and mine only had 2.

    Thanks

    Asad
