    Hi all,

Just about to replace my car battery and looking at installing a Yuasa 9060 AGM rather than a Bosch or Varta one.

When it comes to coding on the UDS protocol what manufacturer code gave folks used for Yuasa batteries?

    Thanks in advance

    Scottie.

Just to update my previous question and for anyone else’s info.

I went ahead and swapped the battery over and during the coding found that the car seems to accept Yuasa abbreviated to YUA.

I matched the battery rating to the new battery which is now a 70ah rather than the previous 68ah oem battery. When looking up the serial number logged by the car VW have installed “1111111111” (ten 1s) as the original serial number so it doesn’t seem to really matter if you have a BEM code or not. I went with the numerical date prefixed with two 0s in the format “00ddmmyyyy” but could have just as easily changed the 1s to 2s or even just the first or last digit to something else. Car accepted these changes and everything seems fine after the necessary drive around the block to clear all of the fault lights on the dash.
