Thought i'd start this thread for any new people who are looking at getting the car.

    Well here it goes

(VW Golf Style 1.5 150ps manual)

Ive had my car since the end of July and have covered 1358miles with an average consuption of 37.2mpg. Might want to take this with a grain of salt as I don't exactly drive the car soft (granny style), regularly getting to urban speed limits in 2nd then shifting to 4th once ive hit the limit.

    44.5mpg from a 1.5 DSG eTSI.
Driven fairly gently over a mix of urban and rural, but not much traffic congestion. Quite a lot of two-cylinder working and coasting with engine off.
A bit less economical than the previous 1.4 DSG TSI, which averaged 45.1mpg over its last couple of thousand miles with us.

44.5mpg from an eTSI? How's that calculated then? I was getting around that in the 1.5TSI today. Not a plug socket in sight

eTSi is not a plug in hybrid, it is a 48v mild hybrid. That said I would not be impressed with that consumption. On our 130bhp 1.5 manual we have achieved 46.3 over 2000 miles. combination of lots of short journeys a small number of long trips. On the long trips, motorway and fast a roads, have seen high 50s

Still a lot of extra money for no extra economy I'd imagine.

I'm in a 1.5 130 Style and have averaged 53.3mpg over 1996 miles. Granted, I probably drive more conservatively, although the first few tanks of fuel were not great on the mpg.

I was getting around the same from my 1.6 diesel 1 series previously, therefore pleasantly surprised!

I have the 1.5 150 PS Style. Most of my driving is my hour long predominantly rural commute.

Now the weather's getting warmer and the car is properly run in, I'm definitely seeing better fuel consuption in our 1.5 eTSI.

Long-term average is now 46mpg, and today saw 61mpg on a run. It comprised about 50% motorway cruising at 70mph, and the rest A/B roads at 50 - 55 mph.

My long term is somewhere in the mid-high 30s as i'm mainly just bobbing about locally at the moment. Motorway trips its not hard to break 50mpg though, especially if you put ACC in charge (1.5 150PS manual shift Style).
