Or the person you spoke to has got it wrong, wouldn't be the first time the dealer got it wrong. If it is hardware then I anticipate it will just be a control box hidden somewhere behind the dash rather than the complete system inlcuding screens etc.

Just back from the dealer. They've confirmed it is the hardware that they want to change but you're right that it's just a box behind the dash that they want to swap out. When that'll be is anyone's guess. Thankfully my phone has pretty good speakers in the mean time!

Update on this...car has been in the last 2 days having a new infotainment module fitted. Just got off the phone with the dealer to be told it's just been issued with another recall and needs to go back in the new year "for a few days" as the required job takes 6 hours. No idea what the recall is but will find out later when i collect it. The service person i spoke too assured me the brake pedal wouldn't fall off(i was being dramatic) but didn't have any details to hand of what was actually the issue. Enjoying my 70 plate car thus far...

What mode do you use when driving. Do you use private(incognito) or public?

    Hi all,
I have the same issue since yesterday. The car doesn't have internet connection, the world is grey. Just spoke with customer service in Greece, they cannot do anything remotely. Need to go to a dealer, to fix it. They didn't inform me if it is hardware or software issue.

    You can try the following:
    - Wait a few days to see if it reconnects by itself. This has happened to a few members on here - there is a thought that it’s a problem on the VW server side.
    - Try the procedure in post #32 - has sometimes worked for me but not always.
    - Visit the dealer.

Some of us have tried a hard reset (restore to factory settings on the infotainment screen) but it hasn’t worked consistently and you lose all your settings and presets.

Can you please advise what they did at garage and how they remove this hardware?
I am very anxious with this idea, thinging or potential damages on the dashboard or annoying sounds.
